Participants will be in a group that participates in the Water Sports and Tennis programs either in the morning or afternoon and switch sports mid day.
Participants will be introduced to Sailing, Tennis, Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP), Kayaking and Windsurfing to mix up their week.

Bronze Medallion: Judgment, knowledge, skill, and fitness – the four components of water rescue – form the basis of Bronze Medallion training. Candidates acquire the assessment and problem-solving skills needed to make good decisions in, on, and around the water. Includes Emergency First Aid training
Bronze Cross: begins the transition from lifesaving to life guarding and prepares candidates for responsibilities as assistant lifeguards. Candidates strengthen and expand their lifesaving skills and begin to apply the principles and techniques of active surveillance in aquatic facilities. Bronze Cross emphasizes the importance of teamwork and communication in preventing
and responding to aquatic emergencies. Includes Standard First Aid training.

Our trained Child Care Staff will provide engaging supervision, including fun arts and crafts, games, reading, and group activities. To ensure a smooth end to the day, children will take the 5:30 pm launch back to City Station, where they’ll be ready for pick-up between 5:45 pm and 6:00 pm.

Keen to try racing and sharpen your competitive skills on the water? This introductory racing program is the first step in the competitive pathway and will focus on learning the foundations of racing specific terminology, tactics, and boat handling. The program is intended for sailors that have a good grasp of the basic and intermediate sailing skills and are ready for the next challenge.
The program will expose both singlehanded and doublehanded sailing to these new racers to grow their racing experience. Sailors may compete in their first local Club regatta and train under the leadership of an experienced racer, to grow their racing experience with the goal of moving to the racing programs in the future. Certain sessions may participate in a regatta - for 2025 it will be session 2 and session 4. (subject to change)

LTR Program will have an optional Spring Training program to get a jump on the summer season. Sailors will train alongside our race team to learn and see what it is like to be in the racing program. This month-long program will help sailors take their skills and knowledge to the next level with the introduction of trapeze and spinnaker. There will be an opportunity to attend a local regatta as part of the level. Sailors will also learn about personal boat maintenance, seamanship and navigation to build great habits for their future.
CANSail 3 teaches sailors fundamental boat handling manoeuvres and balance with basic tactics and strategy as well as applied sail trim. Sailors are exposed to a greater variety of conditions and participate in a club race or club training camp.
CANSail 4 teaches advanced boat handling manoeuvres in a variety of conditions. Sailors can successfully execute manoeuvres in competitive settings and for tactical and strategic purposes. Sailors participate in a local regatta.

This course introduces youth sailors to keel boat sailing while teaching the basics of cruising. The focus of this standard is on the development of basic sailing and seamanship skills for crewing or skippering. The course will follow the Sail Canada Basic Cruising curriculum and provide the students with a Sail Canada certification upon successful completion of the course.

After Learn to Race move to the next level of racing. This group of sailors will be training with a Class specific Optimist coach with a focus on improving and learning racing skills. The team will compete in local regattas to test their skills against others. The team will also learn a variety of other sailing skills such as seamanship and personal boat maintenance. Moving to an advanced race team, this group of sailors will be training with a class specific Optimist coach with a focus on performance and refined racing skills. The team will compete travel to regattas both locally and nationally to compete against the best. The team will focus on key events to ultimately, qualify for international Optimist teams. Get ready to work as a team and compete in local regattas in the double-handed C420. Sailors team up in pairs to advance skills such as spinnaker and trapeze along with racing concepts. The Junior Club is celebrating its 100th year since its inception in 1925 and has produced many skilled sailors and international champions. Junior Club participants experience the sport of sailing in a safe, fun-filled and challenging environment where we can recognize the potential of every young sailor and strive to help them grow in their chosen sailing pathway. So, it is time to start planning for a new season full of sunny days, big smiles, and budding friendships! Junior Club opens its doors to our youngest, yet most active sailors, in the beautiful Toronto Harbour once more with the upcoming sailing season. We look forward to seeing you on the water!
